Provo Parades!!

Yesterday was my first experience with a Provo parade! People make fun of Vernal parades but oh honey....Provo might have you beat. This parade was "The Parade of Lights". Once we got there i was starting to get very excited by how many people were piled on the street. There was everything you could think of, dancing ice cream cones, karate kids running all over the place, dance teams, fire trucks all over, police men showing off their motorcycles :), zumba classes dancing down the street to advertise, the air force, community queens and princesses, EVEN A HERD OF LAMAS!!!!!! what the lamas were actually THERE for i have no idea! BUT! it was pretty funny. But i honestly don't know why provo called it a "Parade of LIGHTS".....there was not ONE single string of lights!if there wasn't street lights lit you wouldn't be able to see the people in the parade! i was so disappointed! where is this town Christmas season spirit! there wasn't even a santa!! what is the point of standing in the FREEZING cold for nothing?! and then when i said something everyone just said, "what did you expect it to be?" oh i don't know i kind of expected it to be a parade of LIGHTS!! so i guess my new plan is to always be present for the same four fire trucks, thirty horses, and ten tractors in Vernal. At least the Vernal parade if lights has some Christmas spirit and LIGHTS!

Going alone IS ok and I WILL do it!

Dear roommate(s),
Don't tell me it's pathetic to go to institute, choir, ward prayer, family home evening and everything else by myself. If you think you're too cool to actually be a part of things and have friends then fine, no one is stopping you. But all i ask is that you don't humiliate me in front of the people that you are partying with. I'm not going to please you, I'm going to go to these activities for my benefit. NOT for you at all. just respect it.

this is the champion team of catch phrase (Left: Jana, Dusty, Amanda, Israel, And Brinlee) catch phrase is played in apt. 212 EVERY friday night without fail! everyone gets really into it around here :) so i just thought i should document the photo of the team that can not be beat! (watch just cause i said that we are going to loose this friday haha just kidding)

We were in the parking lot of Buy Low and here is what we found. At first we thought that it had to be a joke but no this is really how it was. i don't know how they did it but i guess they just needed a couple extra seats so they built an extension for their vehicular unit.....the utah limo!

Kristen and her obsession corn

Kristen my roommate from Iowa that is OBSESSED with corn. (girl in pink pants) One night i come home from institute and she is shucking (sp?) corn in our front room. all i could do is laugh and she had to tell me the whole story of her finding some farmers market and they fresh corn so she stopped at bought some! just right there on the side of the road, it was amazing. (i guess Iowa doesn't do farmers markets) So we had quite the corn party that night! it was great!

late night boredom

sorry this seems like all at once but i have a lot of catching up to do. so here goes! My good friend Alisia lives in the apartment right above me and she is REALLY in to cooking. so a couple of weeks ago i get a phone call in the middle of the night and she says she is SOO bored and want to do something. I told her to come down and we would find something. she came down with a huge bowl and everything to make a dessert with. none of my roommates were home so we just got to it! and when i say "we" i mean she started baking and i was told to sit at the bar and put the cupcake paper cups in to the muffin tins.....needless to say she only like to cook by her self. haha that's ok though, cause it's not my favorite thing to do at one o'clock in the morning. so instead of helping, haha i made a tower of cupcake papers! now THAT takes some amazing talent!

watermelon carving

:) This is my Home Evening group's beautiful yet very special watermelon that we carved one of the first activities we had after I moved here to the big Pro-of-O. (provo) It was great! i think we had more fun getting all the watermelon out of the insides and spitting the seeds then we did actually carving it. the only downside was there was sticky juice EVERYWHERE FOREVER! we had it at my apartment and we had a sticky counter and floor for weeks. everytime you think you get it all you took another step and found some more. but that's ok, it was worth it. :)

ok so when we went to the Gateway all the boys found these shirts and these white sun glasses.... so everyone of them got one!! and when they all put them on they said they should become a famous rock band and get all the girls. lol so they all stood on a rock and scram "we are famous rockers!!!! love us!!! bow to us!!" lol

this kid cracked me up everyday. This is gieovonne and he was honestly in love with every girl that he met. lol lol lol he is definitely one of a kind. :)

Clizio and i became really good friends over their visit. you have no idea how hard it was to see all of these wonderful people leave.

Americans are evil.... lol ha ha

Ok one of the days we took them to a dude ranch and they all were amazed and sooo excited that they got to meet and watch real cowboys! :) but then these cowboys made the mistake by showing the Italians how to brand a cow!! now all the American students don't care because we know its going to live and we see it all the time.... the Italian students have never seen ANYTHING like this!! when they realized what those guys were doing to the cow EVERY girl including the two Italian professors were BAWLING!!!! and all the guys were just about ready to throw up becasue of the smell. lol and of course the evil americans didn't feel a thing for that cow.
So one of the cowboy guys noticed the tears and ran to his truck and got this little puppy to make them happy. lol they all got happier when they saw this cute little guy.

and then when they realized that we were not crying they just got mad!! lol

lol we went to see the dinos and they were soooo confused!!! but we had great fun.

Guiseppe is the one that won't smile. lol and then Jeovonne' is the one is the blue hood. Andrea La Fico Guzzo (Yes that is JUST is first name and no he WOULD NOT go by a nickname lol ) is the one with the purple stripe on his arm in front. the girl in front is andre' (she is so sweet) and the goofy guy in the back is Clizio!! and he was awesome. (why is my post blue?!?!)

Ten Days of Italy!!

lol these are my boys! Guiseppe is the one with out a shirt, Guieseppe (the one that stayed with me) is in the white shirt, Jeovonne' is the one in the red and Kenzy is the one in the gray. lol kenzy lives here and he had guiseppe and jeovonne stay with him. this was the best week of my life. i wouldn't trade it for anything. for those of you who don't know my school got to host 31 Italian students for ten days. we acted as thier translators and siblings. the whole group became one big family really fast. and all we did was go on field trips and then come home and party. that was literally the everyday schedule. go to school at 7:30 and then get home at about midnight if you were lucky. lol but the loss of sleep just everything funny.

none of these guys had ever got on a tube so kenzy and i took them out and taught them. this is Jeovonne' and all he could say was "fast! go fast! more fast please!"

teachers: DEEP subject for me

to me a teacher should be a person that is there to help you when you don't understand something. if you were really trying to understand something and just didn't get it you would think if you asked nicely you would get help. don't get me wrong because there are ALOT of teachers out there that are simply amazing and you leave their class every day feeling like your on top of the world because you have that support that makes you know that you are going to be able to make it. but heaven forbid the teacher of the hardest class i have just says, "you should know this by now, brinlee, your a jr. in high school. come on you know how to do it i promise. just read the chapter again." ok honestly i HATE reading text books. there is no point at all in reading text books. they are just a waste of paper. i can't read text books to save my life. that is why i listen in class and try my best... there is my problem..but im just sayin

Favorite place on earth

this is the best place on earth to me. it makes life seem to slow down, everything gets put aside and the problems of a teenage girl's high school life seems to disappear. i especially love to see the grandpa Lanny up there. he has a special love for that place. you can see it in how he will stand on the porch and just look out on to the mountain. he will stare out there forever. i also love the stories he tells me as he is there, he seems really happy and relaxed while up there. he has put his whole heart in to that cabin. i love him with all my heart. i have learn SO much up there with him. i hope one day i can take my family up there and share the same feeling and experiences as i have.

Cielo just cracks me up. they set up a little picnic and then cielo just sat their for ever and ate all her pretend food. lol it was so cute.

everytime i go babysit graci and cielo they always say "bin we be pinsisess!" and before you know it there is every dress up out and we are soon pinsisess. i love the days i get to do that.

spa night gone wrong

one night at girls camp we gave each other facials and i guess we got the cheep stuff cause it didn't just dry but when we tried to get it off it turned to slime and wouldn't come off. our leader freaked out and thought she was killing us lol lol lol lol lol lol good times good times. but about 45 minutes later we finally got it off.

goodness goodness goodness..... i just have to say i have great friends. now this is kinsey and i after our "paint fight" and no it was not just us two. there was four other guys that got in the fight with us but for some odd reason the two girls were the ONLY ONES WITH PAINT ON THEM IN THE END!! which is just harsh ya know? the guys were not supposed to gang up on us. lol but we had amazing fun. and this picture doesn't do my hair justice because when we STARTED my hair was down.... and when we ended there was so much paint in my hair it looked like i had no hair at all! by the way i just love my purple nose.
